Default Amp wiring help

Installing a JL Audio amp. Have the RCA and remote turn on wire already run. Trying to run the 4AWG power wire. For some reason the route through the fire wall is partially blocked with framing. I only have about 8.25mm to fit through and my power wire is 9.75mm. It appears my only option is to drill the hole bigger. But its looking nearly impossible to get a drill in there to do the work. Anyone else run into this problem or I'm I the only lucky one? Anyone have any suggestions?

Should be plenty of room in the grommet at the drivers side. After its through its super easy. I've got two runs of 1/0 and one 4 gauge going through it.

What grommet are you referring to? I didn't even think to check the drivers side. I see a spot through the fire wall like on the passenger side. Looks narrow as well. But I'm going to go give it a shot.

Thank you bombout. It went through on the drivers side. Feel kinda dumb for not checking the drivers side. Glad I didn't try to drill.

If you check out sPOD installs, there are two big holes on the driver's side if you have an auto transmission. One has the clutch pedal shaft through it if you have a manual. These are in addition to the smaller, foam-filled holes on the passenger and driver's side, and much larger--enough to fit a large, rectangular sPOD connector.

Passenger side. Driver's side is the same.

I ran mine through a hole on the passenger side. Above the glove box behind that side panel. There's a hole with spray foam sealing it. I just used a coat hangar to poke a hole and tape it on, then pulled it through. The battery is right there.
Make sure you dont run your power/remote turn on wire on the same side as the RCA. Run the RCA cables on opposite side of wherever you have your power wires.
in my case, power and remote wire is passenger side. RCA is on drivers side. And I oriented my amp so they match up so nothing is crossing.
