Default Amp install location

I replaced OE stereo with an Alpine still missing some punch so I am looking to install 2 Alpine amps MRV-F300 and a compact sub under the DS seat wondering were I can mount these amps. I have an 11 JK 2dr and space is a premium any suggestions ???

Thanks

Under the rear seats! Depending on their size, they may mount to the bottom of the rear seat.

Under the front seats. That's where mine is. I'm in the process of waterproofing it since I do a lot of water crossings. Depending on the size of your amp you can try under the steering wheel where the stock amp would go. Or if your not afraid of fabricating, put it behind your glove box. This would require done modification to the glove box of course.

The Sub is going under the DS seat passenger side had easy entry do it won't there the amp size is 8x8x2 rounded I didn't know the put the factory one under the column I will look into that and for the other I will check out the glove box option I didn't think there would be enough air flow there

Thanks

If you pull the panel directly below the steering wheel you will see a good spot to mount an amp. I believe it's 8.5 or 9 inches across. But you can finagle the amp up there if you go up from the floorboards. My amp is too big to fit but a 8x8x2 should fit. As for behind the glove box, be prepared to do some serious fabricating and cutting. But it's a lockable, hidden option. That is also where your cabin filter is located and it's open on the bottom just like the driver side.

I put a compact Clarion amp (75W x 4 at 2 ohms, 2.8 x 7 x 1.4 inches) under my glove box with no modifications so glove box still operable. Doubt a larger one would fit though without, as yellowtj said, heavy modification. No issue with overheating.
