Default Amp for 100wt PA speaker

I just bought a 100 watt PA speaker from Galls and i'm curious if an Amp will really make a difference? As of now its just plugged into the back of my CB unit and sounds OK.

I was told to get something around 200 watts. But everywhere I go asking for an amp for my PA i get puzzled looks.

Someone want to enlighten me or direct me to a place that sells Amps for what i need?

Well I believe almost every CB radio only puts out 4W (at least mine does). I've been looking for a PA amplifier for a while now without any luck.

Look for a small car audio amplifier with SPEAKER LEVEL INPUTS. It will also have RCA (PreAmp) inputs but you won't use those. Wire the CB to one of the input channels and the corresponding speaker output to the PA horn.

All you need is a cheap knock off brand. A Kenwood, Alpine, Sony, Polk, JVC, etc would work but that would be overkill. Check the wattage of your PA horn and don't go over that with the amp. If you do get a bigger amp just turn the gain down.

I have a question for anyone that has put a 100Watt PA speeaker in a JK.
Where did you mount it?

I have an old Federal Signal TS100 from an old police car. It sounds great on my CB, but I can't find a spot under the hood to mount it.

Well i got a cheapo 300wt amp from pepboys and wired it up to my PA. hardest part was finding somewhere to splice into for the remote wire from the amp.

I just took out my drivers seat and drilled the amp into the bottom of it.

The Pa is mounted behind my bumper on the cross bar. You gotta take off the bumper to jam it in there. It barely fits and is touching the bumper and almost sits against the sway bar.

But man... It is LOOOUD now. uuuuhmazing

I have the new Whelen 100w speaker it's right behind my grill. But this speaker is fairly flat.
