Default Air Conditioning switch mechanism makes noise when jeep is off?

So this has been going on forever and i am sick of it.

If you remove your glove box, and look to the left there is a small mechanism/motor that seems to be the shifting device for the air conditioning pipes.

My problem is, that when the car is off, this thing keeps moving and shifting back and fourth for some reason, and it makes a rurring noise when it does it.

Why is this happening especially when the vehicle is off...

That noise had me scratching my head for a few days trying to figure out what it was. Glad someone figured out where it was coming from.

Pretty sure it's a normal noise. Mine has done it since day one. I don't understand why Chrysler did it this way instead of waiting until the key is on. Mine does it when you open the door.

Pull the glove box out and look directly to the left behind the dash. You can't miss it. Its a small motor with a bunch of gears and rods attached to it.

Its really irritating when sitting in the car trying to take a power nap or something...

Weird. 07 Sahara only makes this weird noise when I turn it off. Probably also when I turn it on but them I am also turning the engine on so it masks it.

I noticed the noise also happens if I push some of the dashboard's buttons or even the radios'. But, otherwise, it's completely silent.

Could this noise thing be happening because of some optional feature on the Jeep?

Im pretty sure its the shifter to divert the airflow for the AC vents.

That doesn't explain why it would move around at random times tho...
