Default Aftermarket stereos in JK question (show pics please)

I would love to see what kind of aftermarket systems people are putting in their JK's. I don't particularly want to spend the $$ for a DVD 6" screen system, but the typical head unit.

A question I couldn't find an answer to on here also, if you put in an aftermarket head unit, does that help the volume to the soundbar?

to sort the sound levels out and clean the actual sound itself, you dont need an aftermarket HU, unless there is other feature you are after too??

I got the pro's in to suggest options for me, as i thought the same about swapping out all speakers/amp/sub and HU in favour of a "better" system

and this was immediately poo-poo'd as the stock gear is some of the best my guys had seen, and they regularly win UK competitions for installs

its a Rockford Fosgate unit, and here is the thread about it:

any q's just ask

I replaced the stock speakers in the sound bar with some Kicker speakers, inexpensive and sound MUCH better.. I see no need to change the HU.. But to each his own..

I swapped out my HU with a Sony and speakers with Polks. The sound is 100% better. Factory HU and speakers are terrible. I also put in a RF 10"sub. No pics at this time.

I re did my system with the Jensen Headunit, 6.5 Polks, and a 8 inch polk.. DEI 5 Channel amp.
Nice! Would love to see a pic of the head unit in the jeep to see how good it looks.

I don't think anything is wrong with Jensen, as I'm not entering my vehicle in audio competitions and don't need the best of everything. Just adding the infinity basslink has improved my stock system 100%.

Default Avic d-3

PIONEER AVIC - D3 Love it... need to update amp and speakers, but sounds great with the Rubi speaker/amp package. Nav works great, on screen ipod menu's work well. DVD playback crystal clear and smooth. Oh and XM radio

Same setup with stock speakers and sub. Added aftermarket amp and it does really well.
