Default aftermarket Sirius antenna with Mygig?

I have the Mygig unit with Sirius radio. The stock antenna cuts out a lot when there's any thick tree cover. I did a search, but couldn't find anything. I'm wondering if anyone has added an aftermarket Sirius antenna to enhance their reception.

It looks like the back of the radio has the standard blue and white Sirius radio antenna connectors. I tried removing the stock antenna. The antenna unbolts, but the wire is woven throughout the roll bars, so I don't think it can be relocated.

Thanks for any info!

I added a cheap antenna I got from Best Buy. It works great but still cuts out while under heavy tree cover.

Thanks Deke...so what I'm getting is that when the radio cuts out, it's normal. You've saved me a lot of time...thanks again!

There is a TSB out for the radio cutting out when in SAT mode. When it cuts out, look at the display on the radio, if it says "acquiring satellite signal" then that is what is happening and this is normal. If it cuts out and the display is blank, the radio needs to be flashed at dealership. Had mine done twice.
