ever the jeep is running.
Last four switch settings are....... up, down, down, down.
Is that from the old instructions?

It still doesn't answer my question though. European mode worked as you described on my 2009, but not on my 2012.

Did AEV change it for 2012?

Yea that's just from my old instructions. Works on my '09. Was just clarifying that it was
mentioned in instructions a couple of years ago.
Guess they must have changed something in the 2012. Sorry I couldn' be of more help.

Thank you, it was a big help. Now I know I'm not crazy. I just wasn't sure of the context.

Hopefully somebody will chime in with some 2012 knowledge.

Well, I see it now! My 2 year old instructions have "European Mode", too. I completely overlooked the second line two years ago. (And again today)

Anyway, I tried it, and it works as you described.
I'm going to run this mode for a while and see if it starts eating headlight bulbs.

Maybe it doesn't work on the 2012 because there is an "Automatic" position on the stalk.

I ran it on my 2009 for >2 years with no headlight issues (I had the IPF lights).

Unfortunately I don't have the "Automatic" position on my stalk. I'm not sure it is available on the Sport S.

I wonder if you got the stalk with Automatic, if the programming is there to support it.
The 2012 owner's manual says they would turn on at dusk, though. Wouldn't help since you want DRLs.
That still could be related to why it doesn't work for you.

Next time you get a chance, would you try the extended idle, and see if they dropped the time-out? Mine will time-out after something like 5 minutes.

Hmmm... that's some BS. Why not?

Maybe with the auto headlights Chrysler pulled the coding for AEV to trigger.

I just run my DRLs though my fogs and use the auto headlights, works great. Auto headlights are great and every car should have them

To be honest, I was surprised when my Jeep did NOT have auto headlights.
