Thanks for the write up! My Kickers will be here tomorrow so I went ahead and pulled the black speaker boxes out today. Just a note, I was able to maneuver the driver side box out by undoing 1 more bolt. There is a steel bar at the bottom of the dash, undo the 8mm bolt and you can bend the bar just enough to get the box out!

 

I did the. Same replacement. I agree the difference is great. Add the powerBass tweeters and it is even greater. The one think I learned about putting in the dash speakers is that the inside of the dash has many sharp edges. My hands were scuffed up a bit!!!!

 

What are you guys doing for a subwoofer, I have a stock jku with no sub and regret it every day. Do the kickers have some bass to them too?

Just listened to one song, and I do think its crisper, maybe even louder. The real test will come during my commute Monday AM.

FYI, upgraded from 2013 Alpine system. Had already stuffed the sound bar with poly fill too.

I bought mine on Amazon. For around $75 a pair or so. The ones I chose had free shipping, but there are different combos with different prices. I couldn't find them anywhere cheaper.
