Very nice. I'll be doing led foot well lighting soon. If that's not sufficient then I'll do these.

How do you "tie into" the dome light? I know next to nothing about wiring. Pics would help. Thanks

With LEDs, they draw next to no power when used in small amounts (strips, led pods, etch. Check the ricer aisle at the local auto store)

Luckily they draw so little power that you can wore then directly into the factory system and not really effect the CANBUS.

So basically, positive to positive (solid yellow on the dome light)
Negative to negative (brown on the dome light)

And boom, you have additional lighting that will come on whenever your dome light comes on

Or you can solder them to the aluminum leads on the back of the dome light housing
That's what I did; avoids having to splice wires
You can either use a volt meter or just touch the wires of the LED to different pairs until you find the right combo; very easy and no risk to the LED
You need a number 10 torx bit to get the screw holding the dome light out

I would just splice the wires in. Do the dome light wires run down the driver or passenger side?

Yes. It turns into yellow with white tracer at the connector on the sound bar

I guess here is what I'm getting at. I want to install foot well lighting wired into the dome light, so when I turn on the dome light the footwells light up as well. But I do not want to run wires from the footwell all the way up to the dome light on the sound bar.

Just connect to the wire loom that runs down the passenger foot well... same as the wire in the sound bar. I set up white strips in the side of the foot well near the ground bolts.
