Default 8 Inch Sub Question????

Hopefully someone on here can help with this question.

I am installing a tuffy center console, speakers and stereo in my budys TJ. The console comes with spot for an 8 inch sub woofer.

Should I use an amp for the 8 inch sub woofer?

If so, what size amp?

What is a good brand for a sub and amp?

Thanks in advance.

Unless the console comes with the amp and woofer pre mounted you will need an amp. You can get a small amp at walmart for cheep. They have a bunch of 300 watt amps for cheep. You wont even need that much for an 8 inch, I powered two ten inch sub with a 300 and it slammed.

Also what 8inch sub are you running? You will also need an aftermarket head unit for the RCA cables the TJ dont have RCA's in the back.....

Good luck

It really depends on what sub you get. there is a huge power difference in a JL WX and a JL W7.

JL makes some (if not the) best subs on the market and there amps are simply amazing if you want a nice quality amp.

Thanks for the responses. I went ahead and ordered a marine sub, speakers and amp. Hopefully that will help when the jeep gets rained on. I just need the head unit.
