Default 2013 Alpine premium subwoofer pics

Just a few notes about the sub that comes in the new alpine premium system
It's a Dual voice coil 8" sub
Resistance across each voice coil is 2 ohms
It is a paper woofer

Good to know. Are you replacing yours? If so with what? I am an Alpine fan, but our sub does not scream Alpine......

Think this will fit?

Depressing! I will never get a "premium" system again. My old Audi had the Bose option; all the cones were the worst quality paper ever lol. I built my system from the ground up and sounds pretty amazing compared to the factory options.

I wonder how this compares to the old Infinity system? I'm mildly pleased with it, but think it could be better. Replacing the Infinity speakers with factory Alpine ones could be a cost effective upgrade.

I only got it because the jeep was avail at my dealer of choice. My original plan was to build from scratch. I plan to upgrade speakers with the mopar Boston acoustics that drop in to factory location with the same two ohm rating. I def will replace the sub. Maybe JL audio. I like the size and location of factory sub.

The Alpine logo is on the plastic trim that covers the speaker enclosure.

Will those speaker wires fit an aftermarket sub, or is there some kind of adapter required?

I got my 2013 jku a few weeks ago and, while I have managed to make the stereo decent, the sub still lacks considerably and Id like to replace it. Gonna try to polyfill the soundbar soon too.

At least it looks like the alpine sub uses a rubber surround. Thats an improvement. Should make it last longer.... If that paper cone holds up
