Default 2012 JKU Stock Radio Upgrade Question

Hi all,

I have the bare bones stock radio (no uconnect button) in my 2012 JKU Sport. A friend is giving me his 2012 OEM radio from his 2012 Jeep Cherokee (he upgraded). This one has the uconnect buttons on the front. What additional equipment would I need to make this radio work in my JKU?

Thanks!

That's too funny, stock isn't upgraded with more stock? Do yourself a favor and get a new receiver the stuff available today s incredible and far more capable than stock units, the sound is superior too.

I'm simply trying to add uconnect, the sound is fine for my needs. I know I can add the kit to the stock radio for $250 to $300, but was just wondering if using the other radio would save from having to buy anything...

No, it has the capability but you'll still need the kit to install that feature as far as I know. My 2011 had the button but not the feature. The feature was an option.
