2011 sport LED footwell issues, going crazy
I have a 2011 base sport, six speed, no power windows, no AC. Great jeep. I have been trying to install LED strips into footwell a but can't find the right power source. I am looking to tie into dimmable, dash lights.
As suggested by other threads, I have tried orange/ gray wire under driver kick plate but can't get it to work. I hear that 2011's are not same as other years, they are odd ducks. Should I be using a different wire?
Lights work when I touch them to a 9v battery so I know the lights themselves are ok.
looking for help. Thanks.

Mark confirmed the orange/gray from the HVAC controls, but he did have to run the ground wire also. You could also try the orange/gray from the instrument cluster black connector. And if you have power mirrors, the orange/gray should work from there as well.

On your 2011, like mine, the wire to use is the Orange/gray from the instrument panel. My 2011 did not have the Orange/gray going to the HVAC. Here is a pic from one of my projects.

2. Looks like you have dash off. Hard to do?
3. Did you have to attach LED negative wire to a black ground wire versus direct to a grounding bolt?
My JK is a base model, no goodies like power mirrors, power windows so worried I am not grabbing right wire.
Thanks for sending pic!

Thanks, beginning to think it might be need for ground wire. Looking for ideas on where to tap in...

It sounds like the instrument cluster is your best bet.
