Have you guys had any problems using these 35w bulbs on the JK Can-bus system using the stock harness/wiring? I have a 2010 and am just wondering if this will cause me any issues.
Yea, those stock bulbs are crap and way too expensive. The bulbs I used above were 35 Watt and did not set off the Can/Bus. I run my fogs more as a Daytime Running Light and they were fine (all the time).

I have a feeling (no facts) that if they were 55 Watt they might freak it out. Not sure though. Maybe someone else has tried this and could comment.

Good luck.

I am working on this mod right now, I got the one tab off the top with the dremmel, but the tool head wont fit down the side and i have another tab there i need to remove, so I am trying to sand it off but its hard going by hand with no pressure on the tab. what a pain.

Well I got the LED lights in, they took a bit of force to get in there, but they snapped into place, they are aimed down a bit probably because the housing is not a perfect fit, but they did snap into place and seem to be tight. I hope they hold up and stay in place.

check out my pics...

Here are some pics of the finished product, it's day light shots, to me they don't seem brighter but they do look cool. I like the blue...

Cool Will this mod work with a 2012???

I want to match headlamp/fogs with exactly same bulbs some hyper white or anything like that...

Can someone reccomend bulbs and if this is possible with a 2012 JKU?

The candles in my lamps now look like they are ready to be blown out

Thanks guys!

::EDIT::

Just read another thread that said the 35W bulbs don't work since the rating is for 24W...looks like it worked for you though!!

Is my 2012 going to encounter any problems? I am very eager to do this mod!!!

Yea, it works just fine. Your connectors are the same as the 2011. As for the wattage. I am by NO MEANS an electrical engineer. My "opinion" is that its when you get around the 55W bulbs that the CAN/BUS has a fit. I did not have any problems with the 35W bulbs.

I am sure others have found the limit of Watts that freak out the CAN/BUS and can comment on that. Congrats on having the 2012.

I completely understand your enthusiasm. This is my first Jeep and I completely drive my wife crazy talking about it.

When you do the bulbs, feel free to post some pics and any thoughts on the process. Good luck.

EDIT: I completely forgot to say -- Nice looking rig. I like the rims.
