I just replaced my 2010 fogs with H16 HIDS. I had to trim the little tabs with a razor knife, but that took a whole 2 seconds. Soooo much better now that there is light. next up is HIDs in the heads.

Did you have to splice wires and all that, or did you just plug in the H16 bulbs?

hey guys, i have an '11 sahara and im looking to get hids for my heads and fogs. i was going to order from ddm. from what i gather i need h13 for heads and h16 for fogs. i was wondering if anyone has had any success with this install and how easy it was. is it plug and play or is it hacking into stock harness? can i use stock wiring? do i need any special wiring like the error corrector thing they sell? also i was thinking 35w 5000k fogs and 55w 6000k heads. (trying to get the same color out of heads and fogs) will this setup melt the stock enclosures? any input is appreciated. thanks in advance

I just did it. 2011 sport.55w headlights 35w fogs. The headlights are plug and play its pretty simple. Power wire to the battery and 2 grounds. The fogs you need to splice into the factory harness. I used these little red things. I didn't actually cut the plug off. So far so good. The headlights have been in for 2 days and fogs 1 day. I have no extra wiring kits and just what's in the kit.

Installed these on the Wife's JK today to replace both burnt factory bulbs after 1.5yrs/20K miles

I had to do some minor modifications to the socket with a sharp razor blade but I got them to fit.

Stock Bulb:

New Bulb:

Comparison:

Side-by-Side:

Both:

Overall impression is that they look okay and at $28.99 for both are way cheaper than buying the factory replacements at the dealer at $40-something a piece.

Also, installed some LED clearance lights on my JK:

What did you trim? I have the same bulbs and they look the same but don't fit.

Quick Reply: 2010 JK's use H3 fog light bulbs now ( PSX24W) not 9145
