so i have recently came across a firestick antenna, i want to mount it to my licence plate bracket. i thought there was a write-up on how to do it but cant find it, if anyone can please foward it on to me. or if anyone has done it and would like to pass on info it would be awesome!! also is it a bad idea to pain the antenna? its currently red and it really does not go with Sahara tan

I think that's what he means. And I wouldn't paint the antenna...it will kill reception from personal experience. Dave at Northridge has black ones.

 

all the license plate mounts are the cool tech ones.

Painting the antenna isn't necessarily bad as it's just the covering but it won;t last long.

and by all means STAY AWAY from the "no ground needed" or "self grounded" junk out there. Unless the antenna your rocking it 18 ft long (1/2 ish wave) then YES you need a ground.

 

I have the Cool Tech Gate mount with a Fire Stick...it works great. It is a Stainless Steel mount, no rust, even in a state that dumps tons of salt on the roads. I made a simular one for my TJ.

 

I also have the cool tec mount and like it.
I v seen some rigs using this mount on the license plate.
