There are a lot of people who have done the black inside (I'm assuming you are talking about painting the inside - Edit: ha, if I learned how to read I would have known that :o) and it looks pretty good. Read through the what I did today threads and you will see some. I think you need to see one done in body color to appreciate just how ....um .... different that might be. I think body color may be a bit much in there, but it's your Jeep.

ive found some krylon rattle can paint on amazon that should do the trick, a few cans of it, a can gun for $5 to make it less insufferable with my hands being riddled with arthritis, a couple plastic drop clothes to seal off the interior surfaces im not wanting to pain, some tape and paper to cover the glass/roll bars, i just need to figure out if i just need to rubbing alcohol wash the white surface, or scuff it. is it gel coated and in need of a scuff to get krylon to stick to it? i know if i was using automotive paint it would definitely not stick well without scuffing and priming, the krylong claims its good on any surface including metal wood plastic and glass, but if i need to scuff it no biggy, ill get a scuff wheel and a drill and make a couple passes.
total budget for what im leaning towards here, would run me about 50$ for paint thats so close to the body color i cant tell it apart, esp on the inside of the hard top in a black interior, all the stuff i need to keep the paint off what i dont want to get it on, and a few hours of my time prepping and spraying coats. shouldnt be too back with the freedom tops off and the rest of the hard top loosened up and proppr so i can get above the speaker and roll bars (which will be covered with protective paper and tape!)

aye i know black would look just fine, def a 1000% improvement over white gloss interior on hardtop, body color, well the roll bar covers are black, the seats are black, the carpet (havent come up with a reason to remove it yet) is black, I redid the silver ac/door trims to the body color red, with all the black i think the red would "pop" but its like tripple the work!

ive ordered a 6 pack of krylon plastic paint in bright glossy red to match body color on the inner hard top white parts, some drop clothes to cover up inside with so i dont have to fully remove top to paint it, masking tape and paper to cover the windows and roll bars since they dont need a coat and ill be wipeing it down inside with a dish soap wash to degrease and an alcohol wipe pass to take off anything that gets left behind to make sure the paint gets a good sticking, my research shows the krylon fusion plastic paint is the best stuff to use for this for great results, it comes in alot of colors other then black or red for anyone wondering, ill see if i can borrow up a digital camera to snap some befores and afters for you guys. at the very least when im done i know i can get my sister to let me use her camera (a really nice digital one that takes HQ shots) to get you an interior shot to see how it turns out instead of white
