Just my .02 but I spend 10 years in the Marines and launched thousands of rounds downrange through the Beretta. Not a bad weapon, but not what I would want in a pinch. If you don't mind going polymer, I love my Sig SP2022 and you can get it for around $400 with the Siglite night sights.

Its funny that you posted this. My buddy just got his license and I was trying to get him to buy the 92. He settled on the 2022. Now I have a huge respect for Sig. The 226 is amazing! I was shocked to see the 2022 shoot just as well as the 226. It has great control, its comfortable to hold, accurate, and best of all, CHEAP!!

Im sure my buddy will appreciate a Marine giving props to his new pistola. Im coming of a GLock 226 so Im really digging this Beretta. As for a comparison of the Beretta to the 226 or 2022, its too early for me to give one. THats how good the 2022 is. Im shocked it never really caught on big in the US.

The most important part of any weapons system is rounds on target. If it feels good in your hand and you can hit what you're aiming at, it's a winner. Glad you like the Beretta and glad to see that NY hasn't completely outlawed pistols yet

Sales are going through the roof. LI dealers are having a hard time keeping M4's in stock and there are so many pistols on back order. I never would have beleived how this administration would have resulted in a boom in firearms sales. LOL

mind me asking how much your used 26 went for?

The 92 or m9 is a good gun but personally I would rather have a 1911 in 9mm, a sig 226, or even a nice cz75. Just my opinion. The 1911 9mm would be affordable to shoot and give you the most options for accessories.

It was Gen 3 and it sold for $475. I had a laser sight added which replaced the rear night site.

I know very little about 1911's in 9mm. I went with the Beretta because aside from the 1911 in .45, there is no pistol more tested by the US government than the M9. Its its good for them, Its good for me. I love the sig 226 but since my father has it and my friend just picked up the 2022, I wanted to go a different route so we had variety and a source for competitive banter at the range.

From what i can tell you bought the beretta for target shooting / fun so i say screw the reviews and critics! If you like it

I also like the looks of the 92 and have shot 2000+ rounds throughit without a single issue.

Good luck and have fun with your new pistol
