Once home, I have many more choices.

How much did you pay for the p90? or is it a ps90? I dont know guns as well as I used to.

Yes, It's a PS90. I think it was $1200 or so when I got it NIB a couple of years ago. It is one fun gun. Light, maneuverable, easy to hit with. While the ammo has it's detractors, look at Elite Ammo. They have a variety of hard hitting rounds available. The gun was designed to out perform a 9mm for close in defensive work. While I wouldn't use it for my all around gun, for my "get me home bag" it's great. Easily concealable, and with one mag in and 5 back ups I have 300 rounds on tap.

I would choose the Mossberg 590 shotgun with rifle sights.

It's a great / reliable high capacity (8+1) pump shotgun.

Shotguns are great because you can use multiple types of loads, such as.....

#1: Birdshot for hunting small game / birds / fowl.

#2: Slugs rounds for hunting big game.

#3: Buckshot for defense against humans (or whatever else comes along...LOL!!! ).

I voted ar-15 but it would actually be the ar-10 or both. I always have a good stock in ammo for both but the reach of the 10 and knockdown of the .308 is hard to beat.

These.
The Gunner/Co-Driver can smell a bad guy (or cheeseburger) from a mile out.
I also just got my DPMS L.R. 308 back from a friend, so I can reach out and touch again. The 1100 will be in my lap for Bug Out traffic jams (slugs)...
