ok. enough political/social drama. back to what you guys that carry daily tote around with you, please. Unless I have someone convince me otherwise, I am planning a kimber ultra carry II. Hoping to buy one in about 3 weeks.

I agree, this thread has gone way off topic, and I am probably the second most guilty one here.

Hbomb, if you want to discuss the social/political ramifications and reasonings of gun ownership, please start your own thread about it and feel free to discuss away.

This thread is about what guns we chose to carry on a daily basis.

Further off topic posts in this thread will be removed by me.

I couldnt talk you out of that gun if i tried, I have a huge love for Kimber firearms. I have two handguns i intend to sell, when i do i will be getting a Kimber as well, not that exact model as it just doesnt feel quite right for me in my hand, i had the opportunity to shoot both at the local range and the ultra carry is just a little bit off for me, but the Pro Carry fits me perfectly. Unfortunately a little bigger, but i shot better with it, so that is what i intend to get.

how much larger is the pro carry in real life? I saw it on the website, but they didn't have one here. of course. I really like the alloy frame in the ultra II. I was pleasantly surprised by the weight of it. When holding it you can actually feel the bull barrel weight in front the pistol. I used to live in a town called nacogdoches a couple hours south of here, and there was a kimber/glock dealer there. I remember them selling loads of kimbers and the most expensive there being $700 and me thinking how much that was. lol. they had many models for like $500ish, glocks and kimbers were actually close in price. I wish I had bought one then. I had $700 to blow on a pistol I dunno why I didn't do it.

It makes me wonder if in a few years the Kimber pistols are going to be another $400 more? If I don't get one now, am I going to look back in 9 or 10 years and think "I could have got this same pistol for $900 and now it is 1400"??

Going with what I know & with the 4" barrel, i would say it is roughly similar in size to the glock 19, maybe just a little smaller. (felt better to me than my glock though, and that is hard for me to find in a handgun)

I didnt have anything on hand to compare to, so I am gussing a little.

that is a little big for here I think. It just gets so hot here. Hiding a 4" in shorts and a tee-shirt are a challenge.

Ruger P89, 15+1 rounds, everyday, all day concealed in a crossbreed supertuck inside the waistband holster just past the three o'clock position....i'm 6'-4", 200 lbs and it conceals easily and comfortably with most everything i wear which is usually jeans/shorts and a polo shirt/tee shirt/button-up untucked....this holster also allows you to tuck in your shirt for those occasions that require nicer attire....i shoot whatever ball ammo i can get my hands on when shooting at the range and it's loaded with winchester hollowpoints for everyday carry....would like to get a sig mosquito .22 for something cheaper to shoot at the range that still has the size, weight, feel and functions similar to most semi-autos...for the original poster who is just getting into concealed carry i'd also recommend the united states concealed carry association for tons of great information and resources for concealed carry.....i just recently joined them to get full access to their website and have not regretted it.....if you finally decided on getting that kimber then that's a great gun...

Nice gun!!! (Ruger P89)

I've had one for years & love it!!!

Reliable, accurate, user friendly & priced great!!!

The coolest thing about this gun is that the safety & mag release buttons are both ambidextrious!!! COOL!!!

Also, the thumb safety acts as a hammer decocker!

You don't see all of these features on many guns!!!
