In public, I carry my xd 9mm. In the woods or jeeping, I carry my 4 inch barrell gp100 in .357 magnum. I have a small passport/documents shoulder bag that I carry my GP100 when I am in NY. In PA I can just wear it on my hip, i usally cover it with a shirt so as not to scare the scittish liberals. In ny it is too hard to conceal the gp100 on my body because it must be totaly and completely concealed. In PA you can open carry.

guys, respectfully i totally understand where you are coming from. i don't think there is a "normal" man alive who does not want to protect his family.
i am 46 years old and in my entire life have never even come close to feeling the need to own a gun.
i live 15 minutes outside of toronto and frequent the city many times for concerts, dinner and whatever. toronto is a BIG city, bigger than most in the US except for the majors. don't get me wrong; toronto has crime too but nothing, i feel, necessitating the need to carry a gun.
happy. you live in niagara falls, ny. just 5 minutes away from canada. why is there such a difference in attitudes toward guns between our two countries, have you ever been to toronto? do you feel the same need to carry a gun there if you have?
it seems to me the right you believe you have to carry one creates the need for you to have one.
i am not disinterested in guns as much as i am fearful of them. i feel nothing good can come out of a bunch of people carrying guns around to protect themselves.
but what do i know, i'm just a yellar bellied pacifist eh!!

In my opionon fear is a result of a lack of education. You fear what you don't know. I think everyone is afraid of a firearm the first time they fire one. Just like you are nervous behind the wheel for the first time.
Have you taken any firearm courses to learn how to safetly handle one? That is a big part of being a sheep dog.
Just becouse you haven't had any issues doesn't mean that there isn't crime in your country. It just means you have been lucky. But how long will it last?

My wife and I just got our PA LTCF's (licence to carry firearms/ ccw permit). They are very easy to obtain in my part of PA and are recongized in something like 30 other states.
Although I have a good armory at home, never really much into pistols. Just my 1911's, usual Colt 38 and a small Astra 22.
Anyway's for her "carry" weapon, she got a new Beretta 92 FS and loves it.
I just bought the Sig SP 2022 yesterday. I felt odd trying to set up to carry my 1920 Colt 1911 in a concealed shoulder holster.
I haven't put round one through the Sig yet but, hear great things about it. I wasn't keen on going with 9mm but I think .40 is an odd sometimes hard to get size and .357Sig I think is also one of those odd sizes like .45 Glock or 9x19.
