With that said I carry a Glock 19. As another poster said if you need 16 rounds then you have a big problem - no matter the situation.

I have to agree with the poster above. Shotty for home defense, if a pistol you want pick your G17, low enough caliber that will make it inexpensive for you to take to the range and practice with it as often as you want. I run the G19 for daily carry, G34 for competition and a mossberg for the house. And regardless what anyone says, keep that finger off the trigger until you are completely sure you are ready to pull it.
