The price on the Taurus is low enough that you could buy it and resell it for a profit.
Sounds like he is in a hurry for some bucks, so if you wouldn't feel guilty taking advantage, you could some profit even if you don't want to keep the Taurus.

My two cents, it's a pretty good deal. However, don't substitute quality for price.

If you don't buy that rifle and scope for that price... I WILL!! Pass on the Taurus (unless you just want to help him out).

Far too many issues with the Taurus pistols. You might be safer to hand it to the bad guy and let him shoot at you with it. Should take himself out.

What I've heard about Taurus pistols is, stay away from semi-auto's but the revolvers are good. My dad had a .357 Taurus revolver that we never had any problems out of.

BTW,, just to update,, still waiting on the 700,, he just hasnt brought it up to the mountain house yet.. the taurus I passed on,, he did sell it to another buddy tho,, took it to the range and it jammed too much too often.. I ended up buying a BN RIA compact 45 1911.. 200 rounds thru with all kinds of cheap dirty to good ammo and not one FTF/FTE yet.. and if I rest on the bench,, I can place a 3" grouping at 25 yards,, freehand,, well more like 1' grouping,, but its getting better..

I agree. I posted to another thread that I help out at my friend's gun shop, and Taurus is the MOST returned/defective handgun we sold. I have had too many Milleniums and 24/7's returned to Taurus to ever trust my life to one. We also got several bad Judges and model 85's, and when a REVOLVER won't work, THAT IS BAD>>>
