Weather Spotter Training - Douglas County CO
It's soon to be that time of year again where severe weather helps us enjoy the 4+ seasons we get in Colorado. If you're interested in being able to read the clouds and conditions, and interested in weather spotting and even reporting conditions to the National Weather Service, please consider attending training in April.
Last spring there was standing room only at the training class in Douglas County, so this year we're going to have two separate classes, both dedicated to only the weather spotting class (last year it was combined with the local ARES district's monthly meeting, which took too much time).
April 15 - Castle Rock
6:30 PM
Location TBD (Douglas County OEM is finding a location)
April 29 - Parker
7:00 PM
South Metro Fire Parkglenn HQ
10235 Parkglenn Way Room A & B Parker, CO
These classes are presented by the National Weather Service. You can be a certified Skywarn severe weather spotter after 90 minutes of basic training or stay for the advanced portion of the training. For information on training classes in other counties, see the NWS training website at http://www.crh.noaa.gov/bou/?n=spot_training
