Hey since I got ya, How's the ammo situation for .223 and .308 around there in the valley. Also I can pick up a long rifle with no sales tax up here in "live free or die" New Hampshire (15 minutes up the road from me). Just wondering.

They are starting to last on shelves a little longer, maybe a day or two versus 5 mins. I actually saw a good amount of .308's at Walmizzy the other day. I've been frequenting Walmart next to my house, and if you come in right when they get a delivery, you can usually get a couple boxes of .223's, 9mm's, .45's, .40's, etc. They are not impossible to find, you just have to do some leg work and calling around.

I was wanting to build a Rem 700 in a .308, but I decided to wait a little longer until ammo is more available.

Also, we turned down the furnace already! Its in the 90's this week with rain!

I say .223 for the top one, and .308 for the bottom one. I'd go for the long range rifle. But you should get both!

Bobby, I appreciate your suggestion and all, but if left up to you I would cut a check for about 6500 bucks and get all kinds of bang bang toys. Remember, all I want is a pistol and ONE, yes I said ONE long gun.

I haven't bought 223 or 308 from a storefront in years. I always internet purchase since 500 rounds is my minimum buy. Try gunbot.net for prices.
