Seattle guy down for a visit
Hey all! Thought I'd see what all those ghost town trails are about so I'm road tripping down to the valley this week. Anyone available this weekend or Monday-Tuesday ?

Mud grapplers are very heavy. They don't wear as bad as people say. I ran my 37s for 12k miles and they probably still had another 20k or so in them when I sold them. I wouldn't run km2s if they were free but I know some people love them. In my opinion the best all around tire is the trail grappler. They are good on the rocks and have a harder compound than the mud grappler so they should last longer. I ran them in a 35 for 15000 miles and they were still over half tread. When I sold them. The harder compound of the trail grappler does chunk up a bit more on the rocks though. If you decide on a 37" mud grappler just be gentle on the gas, their weight can really tear up your axles.
I've got the 35" KM2's right now with about 30,000 on them and have liked them for all of the wheeling I have done. Back way to CK, butcher jones, Sedona, Sycamore type stuff. Just disappointed that the 37 is not an actual 37.
The weight of the Nitto's makes me nervous. I've had alot of issues with my ball joints, u-joints and axles already.

Just realized you are running a d30 front. If you really want to go 37s It is only a matter of time. Hopefully john will chime in I know he spent a small fortune beefing up his d30 only to have his ring and pinion go out and then bend his sleeved and gusseted housing. you can add rcv axles beef it up but with a 30 there is always a next week link. I was replacing axles on my 44s like I had stock in them. I would stay away from mud grapplers or toyos and go km2 or trailgrappler, at least then you will will have a fighting chance. I think Jason has had good luck with his trailgrapplers but i know he is running a pro rock 44 in the front. That d30 just wont handle 37s.

Going to head up to north phoenix on Thursday with another jeep buddy. I was thinking of running "Raw Deal". Not a weekend but any and everyone is welcome.
