Was curious how many of you guys in AZ carry on the trail? Been thinking of picking up a hand gun for home protection and possible trail protection. I'm not new to guns or gun safety for that matter but haven't owned anything other than my shotgun and was thinking of a 38 or 9mm as an option. What do you guys have?

I carry a Ruger 38 special. It will fire either 38's or 357 magnums. Small but packs a good punch. During snake season I have 2 snake shot loaded in with the 357's.

I have a DAISY with some gold pellets.... not sure what size they are, but they will kill an angry bird.

So its my understanding that the weapon either has to be visible on your person or if concealed it has to be at least 2 steps removed from you. Do you guys have any trick mounting spots or just keep it holstered in the glove box?

I have a Ruger P95 9mm. Very good price and really reliable.
I keep mine holstered on me most of the time while driving, unless going for a real long drive i keep it holstered in the middle console
