Just me and the wife, but are you implying that most of the tougher obstacles are optional?

Default A little help?

Hey folks, I'm coming home from Afghanistan reasonably soon and looking to get some toy work done on my '10 JKU. I was wondering if any of you could give me some recommendations on good shops. 1) Looking to install a RC 3.5 Midarm Flex. Tires are BFG 315/75R16 (KO's) and should be on this week. Looking to bump that up to 365 KM2's in a few years but need the HWY use right now. 2) I am thinking of dropping a 5.13 in it, sleeves, gussets. Can any of you recommend a good shop for that? Also, is anyone running a 6 speed 35's or 37's with that ratio? I am looking for something I could reasonably drive up to MOAB for example, then wheel when I get there and enjoy the ride back (and have enough $ to enjoy a Polygamy Porter or ten).

Finally, looking to buy a set of Level 8 Strike 5 wheels and can't seem to find the backspacing specs. Anybody have any idea? With my combo, I'm thinking I need about 4" and really don't want to go spacers.

Thanks all and hope to see you on the trail here in a few months.

yeah there are a few drop offs and a couple of tough areas that will challenge your jeep, but the real hard lines are all optional. I have only ever seen one stock jeep try the upper part of the trail, It can be done especially in a rubicon. it is a good trail you should enjoy it.

I may be up there messing around for a bit saturday. Im still getting used to shifting this atlas and want to try a couple of front digs.

Thanks for the info. We should be up there about mid day Sat. Would love to check your rig out and maybe start putting some faces to the names around here.

5.13s and 35s might be a bit much on gearing. Most with the 6 speed go for 4.88 on 35s. With 37s 5.13 works well from what I have heard.

The Level 8 Strike 5 in a 17x9 has 4.5" back spacing. I don't know about the 16" diameters. Here is a pic of how they look. 17x9 with 35x12.50R17 mtr/k

Could one of you guys give me some directions to lower raw deal, having some trouble finding my way...

Edit:
Just kidding if these are correct...

Proceed North from Phoenix via I-17. Exit the freeway at the Table Mesa Road turnoff, Exit 236, (between New River and Black Canyon City). Turn west, crossing over the freeway, and then turn right onto the access road that parallels the freeway. Proceed 1.7 miles down the tar road, which shortly turns into gravel. The trail starts off the left side of the road, just before you get to the first "Y".
