So my lift kit came earlier today and i'm tearing the jeep apart, but i cant seem to get the control arms bolts loose at all, ive been working on the control arms for over three hours now. Currently using a breaker bar.
Does anyone have any ideas on what to do? ive been soaking it in PB blaster all night and day. do you think if i bought a 12v impact wrench if it would be powerful enough to loosen them?

Those control arm bolts are torqued at 125 ft lbs from factory spec. (upper are less) , I don't think a 12 v impact will do it, but a 18v might if you get the high power one. I say ( I have torqued all of mine with a 2 foot- 1/2" drive torque wrench and I got some on it) a 1/2" drive air impact will do it also ( I helped a guy install a long arm and we used a 1/2" drive air impact on all of the arms. I say get a long 1/2" drive breaker bar and pull like he11 and break them loose.

Get a 24" breaker bar...you can even make that longer with a pvc pipe.

I have a corded impact you could borrow. Not sure it will do it but it's worth a try.

Thanks for the tips all. my buddy just randomly showed up and got both controls arms out in 5 mins for me... i think i needa hit the gym
