I'm suppose to go to a buddy's house 2marrow and straighten it out with a 20 ton jack, chains, and a I beam. I'm pricing stuff out right now and getin my shoppin list together as we speak. A Dana 60 has a 1/2 inch tube and so does a Dynatrac Pro Rock 44 UNLIMITED, the reg Dynatrac 44 is 5/16", the only real advantage the 60 will have is wider if ya want it (I can run spacers and be 1 " less wide, I run that way now anyway) and the 60 has a bigger ring, pinion, knuckles, inners/outters. Tryin to justify cost vs. what ya get and will I or do I really need a 60. Pro rock 44 U. housing and I swap over my stuff and I get some chromo's and a couple other small things it's gonna be 3 grand. Go 60 route and we're talking 7-7500, or go Teraflex and/or that other brand and we're still talkin around 6-6500. Jeepin ain't cheap. If I was to stay 40's I think the PR 44 Unlimited would most likely be enough, it's 183% stronger than stock axle housing. Stock with sleeves are like only 35% stronger than stock. I'm doin my research and looin at cost vs. need vs. what ya get and pain in the a$$ to bolt up or have a fabricator weld brackets then I have to buy a set of gears and wheels and evrything else that goes with it if I go 60. Lot to bite off when ya go 60. Driveshafts, track bar, drag link, it jus goes on and on. Where if I go PR 44 U. it's kinda a straight bolt up deal, just will have to set up the gears in the new housing.....

Im in the exact same boat as you right now Tim. My only bennefit is that I - 1. dont already have 40's and 2. My D30 is still surprisingly holding up so I still have time to save up for the 60. As of right now, Im leaning towards babying the 30 for the next 12 months and save right up for the 60.

I'm thinkin theres gonna be a few of us that are gonna be down this road before its all said and done. Thinkin I'm gonna stick with the PR 44 Unlimited, It does come with a 1 year warranty for bending n all and that would certainly give me time to see if it's gonna be enough for 40's or not ( I talked to Dynatrac today and they think I'm good up ro 40's but no more). Now if a person was gonna go 42-44's or even bigger I would say 60 or 70. Dana 60 is not as strong at a GM 14 bolt rear, a 70 is more comprable to a GM 14 bolt rear,, throwin that out there for info and what I been finding out. To really have a nice set-up to run 44's is to get a 60 front and 70 rear with chromo's from Daynatrac. HIGH dollar though.

After all the axle and tire upgrades, then is it the Ripp supercharger, 5.7 hemi or the 6.4 hemi?
