With that being said, A D30 Sleeved w/C gussets(same kit as D44) CRV axles (same strength as D44) ARB Locker (Stronger than a Rubi E-locker) my only week point is going to be my R/P. At least I have a 5:13 and not the weak 5:38! So even if I find a D44 I will still have to Sleeve & gusset,CRV axle. In the end my built D30 will be stronger than a stock D44! Now you guy's can understand the TRAMA that I'v been goin through in my head! I go to bed thinking about it and wake up thinking about it, and oh yeah! ALL DAY LONG!!! Thanks for your input guy's. I havn't made up my mind yet, but am leaning to D30.
YEAH YOU ARE BETWEEN A ROCK AND A HARD PLACE I say put 37s on and sleve and gusset it. then in 6 months or a year when you blow it up you can sell what ever is left woring in it.... the locker etc. .... and upgrade. you may have luck with the 30 there are guys doing it but im afraid of my 44s when i upgrade to 37s and im locked. hell I already bent an axle shaft with the 35s

if you did everything you said you would problably loose the driveshaft first then kill the gears. I figure when I do mine the front diff will be the first thing to go with the 5.38s, which on the 44 are like 5.13s on a 30

Got to love rain

Note to self...don't hit those sweet puddles at 50 with the top off

Anyone have experience with Desert Fab Motors? Any feed back on their gears/sleeve installs would be good.

WRMorrison- good to know.

Casey- Yukon 5.38 (cause I have an auto and will go bigger when the 35 MTR's wear out), also picked up sleeves, diff covers, and gussets. I'm wanting to make this 1 big install at the shop. I usually do all my own stuff, but this is out of my range as much as I would like to learn and do it myself.

I'll watch the threads on your Payette Draw run....hopefully I can make it a good camping weekend up there with you guys.

Hey Bob, The D30 ARB air locker is a 27 spline. Heres the deal, The locker & gears were in the jeep when I bought it. This upgrade will cost me about $1500 for the patrs(RCV Axles,Sleeve&Gusset,Poisen Spyder Diff cover) I will do all the instal myself. The D44 will cost a LOT more than that right now $4500+ So this is going to be the logical way for me right now. I also have to fit in the price of tires&wheels! I can always go D44 in the future. Also the RCV Axles come with a you break it we replace it warrenty!

Thats a great photo JocKy! Man, I thought I was the only one running no top (sort of, bikini) on Sunday! The snow and rocks were awesome, the mud not so much.

For now, i'll just keep my

Seeing that John is going to let work get in the way of fun - If you didnt see in the Group section, we are trying to do our M&G at the Pavillions this Saturday night.

Hopefully the East Coast - I mean East Valley folks can join us.

Post up in the M&G section if you are intrested.
