Damn! Another foot of snow. That will hinder us a bit but not too badly.

Gonna bring the warm sleeping bags just in case.

Hey mmcan NICE Rubi. Hope you had a good time. I am going to Durango / Cortez area the first week of October in my Black Rubi , hopefully before they get to much snow. Is your Jeep a Auto or six speed?

I have the auto, and my friend in a TJ has a standard. For me, I am happier with the auto than if I had a stick. Working a clutch and gears must be fun for some, but I have had my hands full enuff without shifting manually. But the TJ is having no problems at all. That is a very capable vehicle.

We have had an absolutely amazing time up here.

In spite of most of the higher passes being closed bc of snow, we did manage to take Cinnamon Pass out of Silverton into Lake City, and then we hit Chinaman's Gulch, which was a blast. We made it to the Waterfall but had to turn around bc it was getting a bit late. We also went thru Slaughterhouse Gulch yesterday, which is nothing compared to the difficulty of Chinaman's, even when wet and slippery. FUn nevertheless!

Today we're going to try Spring Creek, and then tomorrow back home.

Here's a little from Chinaman's Gulch,... It was a blast. Check some of my other posts as well. I will be plastering pics as quickly as able.
