Default I'll be in the Marble Colorado area for labor day.

Camping at Bogen Flats near Marble (south of Glenwood Springs) for labor day weekend. I hope to find some good back country roads to explore.

Has anyone been around there to Jeep?

There are some GREAT trails in the area. Lead King Basin and Schofield Pass are must do's. Gunsight Pass if nice, too. You also need to stop at the Crystal Mill for some photos. If you want to head over to Taylor Park, I would highly recommend Pearl Pass....it's one of the most beautiful trails in the state.

Unfortunately. I did not make it to the Elks yet this year.....may not happen :(

We have camped at Bogan Flats twice this year - what a great area. Randy - who has the coolest web site in the Jeeping world - covered the area.

Here we are at the top of Sheep Mountain - a trail off Lead King Basin. Sheep Mountain is between Crystal Mill/City and Lead King Basin. There are no signs on this trail except at the top which says 'Private Property'. It turns into a foot trail at the top where we turned around - a little gnarly.

The trout fishing at Beaver Lake in Marble is great - good fishing also where you are camped. Have fun!

And here is a shot of the Devil's Punch Bowl on Schofield Pass. You'll see a sign when you turn off 133 for Marble that says "Schofield Pass Closed" - it is sort of a permanent sign since Gunnison County does not promote this trail! We were camped at Bogen Flats when we did Schofield and came back from Crested Butte via Kebler Pass - just a dirt road pass. Schofield once in one day was enough for us.
