Anyone have pics from Colorado--Buena Vista Area?
We're going there for vacation this summer and are taking the Jeep. Any pics of good roads/trails there?
Any suggestions are welcome!

I don't have any good pics for you but some of the trails between there and Colorado Springs are Gulch Range Road that starts in Woodland Park and goes to the Garden of the Gods (scenic and real easy), and Mount Baldy in the springs, Gold Camp Road (upper section should be open this week). I know it's not much but I hope this helps.

I visited a Navy buddy there about 20 years ago and fell in love with the place. I'm sure it's probably quite different now but it's a great place. There were tons of trails out there. Have a great trip.

Thanks, everyone. I'm thrilled at the opportunity to go and put the Rubi through its paces. I checked out the info on Traildamage.com, and it is VERY informative! I just have to do a few things to the Jeep before I go.
1. Third row seat for kids--ordered and waiting for delivery.
2. Protection for the oil pan. It just looks too vulnerable, although it probably isn't as bad as it looks.
3. Lockpick--backup cam, headrest video monitors, so kids can watch movies on the way.
4. Maybe--tube doors for rear--when riding up mountains doorless, so kids feel just a little more secure.
Is there any good place to rent a Jeep for a week out there? Maybe Colorado Springs? My brother-in-law and his wife are going to want to have one to hit the trails, too.

Mosquito Pass out of Leadville
We have been to the Leadville area a couple of times. It's not far from BV. Turquoise Lake & Mosquito Pass are great rides. Turquoise Lake is paved but it still has some great views. Mosquito Pass(13,185) is closed most of June and is higher than Imogene Pass(13,114) near Ouray. We were in a stock Grand Cherokee.
I will try to resize some pics to post.

Lots of good areas around Gunnison and Crested Butte also. Pearl Pass, Schofield, Taylor Pass, Cement Creek, Lead King most of these are a little higher and sounds like they might not open this year. I used to live in Gunnison and my grandparents lived in Beuna Vista for a few years. I'll be out there last week of June first week of July, I'd meet up with you if the dates match. You can rent Jeeps in Gunnison, Crested Butte, Leadvill (I think) and Ouray for sure. Some real scenic stuff around Ouray. Hancock Pass area is a real nice run. Oh yeah cover up that evap canister or move it too. Have fun you'll never want to leave I miss the heck out of it.
