Jeep passed MOT, just needed to adjust the headlights to the right level. The guys there loved it. All I need now is the speed sensor to get of backorder now...

Ordered amsoil manual trans oil, new oil filter and need to get some mobile 1 turbo diesel oil.
There is a possibility that I might be attempting to change the clutch out as I think it might be on it's last legs but that won't be till august prob.

Also tax runs out in august and I need either the log book or reminder form to do it, both of which are in edin. :(

Excellent news on the MOT. Just what I was wanting to hear.
Any mention about a little extra tread peeping out or the front bumper ?
Also where did you order the Amsoil from ?
(Just changed out the front and rear axel oils, plus new oil & fuel filters etc when it got serviced and it does seem to make quite a difference)
So was thinking gear box next as the oil would be 4 years old.

 

The MOT guys don't seem to care. No-one seems to having probs getting MOT'd. Could probably run a ruddy great stnger and still clear the MOT..

Mine is roof rack next. Next week with a bit of luck. Then maybe have to take a look at a Teraflex suspension. Bizarrely, every year my wife asks me what I'd like for Christmas. Couple of days ago I thought I'd give her the heads-up on a Teraflex system...she barely spoke to me for 24 hours after that.

Hmm...no Teraflex, no diamonds this year.. Better start Googling vacuum cleaners...real cheap ones...

 

What I'm keen to find out about the AEV lift is, .... has that 'buckboard effect' ride you get over uneven road surfaces , (multi repaired tarmac etc), with the stock set up, been absorbed by the tuned springs & Bilston shock combo, resulting in a smoother ride ?
Also the 24 - 25 MPG your getting around the Deven lanes, is that driving it fairly hard ?
Would be interested in what the MPG is at say a steady 60mph on a longer stretch of open road with no stops, just to compare with my still stock wheels, to see if there is any negative affects to running the wider 35's.

Can't speak for 35s but certainly not seen a negative effect with my 33s.

 

yeh it is hard to say, been slipping occasionally for a while now though so never know...
They did mention the fact that they liked them, to be honest an MOT is not the most thourough of inspections, just a quick check of the basics.
Performance oils Ltd (online) haven't received it yet so cant say recommend yet but that is the only place you can get it over here ( I believe). Tried to get some Mobil 1 today, of course they only had 5 ltrs so will have to go back next week.

Not sure about the uneven surface conditions yet but I can say it is nicer over bumps and a bit more firm. (less bouncing)
No that MPG was fairly relaxed driving, I am getting about 20-21 now that I am driving as my usual. ( I am not crazy fast just like to accelerate) To compare, when it was stock and the same sort of driving I was only getting about 23.5.
I think that the MPG will deff go down from stock just due to the weight but that is something that can be expected, and to give an accurate value for you would be hard as we all have our different driving styles, expect about a 1-3mpg drop.
