The V6 is bearable (if you don't look at the MPG), don't think it would be very good with larger tyres, still much prefer mine by a long way. I am already on the case of having the dealer install the aux trans cooler for the 4 speed auto.

Wangler 07 do you mind sending a PM with a rough price you paid for the LOD midwidth without the hoop? (inc shipping and duties)?? EDIT Just read your post about the bumper and the ordering.

The rubi came with a hardtop and brand new softop. I am debating whether its worth getting a Bestop Trektop NX for mine now...
Re. the bumper, have a chat with Chris at LOD directly. He's a nice guy and was always ready to take my call and answer a million questions. Is this for the 2 DR? Make sure you get the extra bad weather powder coating if you go for it, or buy it bare metal and have it done over here. Unfortunately the shipping etc... turns it into a buy 2 get one affair but... That said, a friend of mine who owns a truck building company gave me a hard time for not coming to him first. He said he could have built me an identical one for under £600. Could also be a thought..

Its it pretty much 1st for 10mph, 2nd for 20mph 3rd for 30mph etc if you are not accelerating. On hills you do have to keep it nearer/above the 2000rpm range.

Cheers. Yeh its for the Rubi, my brother doesn't like the stock bumper. That the thing he doesn't really want a winch so he is looking for something similar to the LOD mid in looks and retains the stock fogs. There are a few cheap ones on ebay but as you say by the time you get it over here its prob better getting one built.

Yup. One guy I know ordered the Rugged Ridge one from a seller on eBay UK. The finish was so poor he had to take it and get it blasted and re-powder coated, so whilst it was cheap and shipped domestically it didn't work out too cheap in the long run.

If your bro gets one made up without the winch cavity it should be even cheaper so I'd definitely go that route.

Yeh I never did think Rugged Ridge were very good products. The bumper is nothing urgent so will have a good think about it.

The JK is made for kayaks (and the bull bar has its uses)

Yup! Just bought a boat myself, funny enough. This will be getting wet very soon!

The roof rack is currently being fitted. About to drop her off for a final fitting in a few minutes before the rack gets sent for powder coating.

Great!
Found ourselves another area of interest: water!

I bought also an inflatable, an Italian made MarSea like the one in this picture:

to which I will mate a Johnson 15hp 2-stroke.
Unfortunately I have had no time at all for a proper launch ....

That looks sweet. What length is it? I have a 4hp on my 3D Commando and that's plenty for still water. :-) Plus I'll spend most of the time on the Thames which is a 4 knot limit.

Scangauge 2 arrived from Gendan Auto, ordered it yesterday. Very easy install. I quite like knowing the boost numbers. I will see what sort of 0-60 time my JK does now...

Good stuff, you'll enjoy that one, though you may not want to know your 0-60..
