Great looking Jeep.

Whilst on the subject of DIY servicing, other than the usual fluid changes is there any routine greasing that should be done on yokes, or universal joints on the drive train?

I prefer to do my servicing myself rather than get ripped of by the main dealers for a half arsed job.

Cheers.

The factory u-joints are not grease-able and as far as I am aware there are not any greasing points or places where grease can be added.

I came to the same decision about the dealers

Default Dealers...

The dealers are expensive but have massive overheads plus 20% VAT on everything.
Find my dealer OK and helpful, but would like the satisfaction to do stuff myself, plus save a buck or two

Not a lot of time is the factor for me.

Nope, not at all. I have tried to get it to engage going pretty fast round corners but it handles too well. Think there might be another JK joining the family sometime in the near future

Default Good to hear....

..... on both points.
Do you get much spray from the wet roads with the 'slight extension' of rubber ?

Also can you use the stock wheel brace / lug wrench with the Pintler rims ?
and did you check if the stock locking locking nuts could be used with these rims ?

Thanks

Not surw about wheel spray, they dont stick out that much. No you cant use the factory wrench and sockets. You need a thin wall socket and wrench to go with it. I keep a socket set in the boot all the time. Havent confirmed about the stock locking nuts but I am pretty sure they wont work.

Default Thanks again...

Still mulling stuff over.
Definately lift, tires / Rims & carrier to start with then see what my needs are as it goes...
Did it take long to get the tires ordered & delivered ?
Theres a Jeep off road at Parkwood (Tong) near Leeds on 23 - 24 July so I'll pay them a visit.

They took about a week to be delivered from Germany. They are made in the US so you will need to phone about and see what sort of stock they have in Europe to know how long they will take.
