Hello,

Missed this one, i am from UK, down in Devon, make a lot of my own bits, and love dealing with AEV, got 2 boxes today, high steer, and a rhd rear axle tower, as Quadratec didnt mention a rhd kit was available.

Do any of you do the Jeep events like Tong etc, as i must get up there one day.

Suns out, so going to open the boxes, and fit it all.

Have a good one.

Hi longshank good to see another guy. I'm jealous of your boxes from aev. They make the best stuff for the rhd Market. I can't wait to order some stuff from them.
So you have already lifted you jk? How does insurance react to Lift kits? That's my biggest problem now, they just don't understand what i'm wanting to do!

Hi

I have just been talking to my Insurance company (Admiral [Multi car]) about lifting mine and there wasn't any problem and they say that it won't add anything to the premium if I give a written assurance that I won't take it off road (sort of defeats the point of having a 4 x 4) So you can lift it but don't go off road. Oh and if you have an accident they will only repair it to standard factory specification.

It would be interesting to find out what other UK insurance companys say about lift kits???

anybody as had any experience.:dontknow2:

That's so true, I am "down south" in Berkshire and its very rear to see another unless I go into the dealer.

So when you get the chance you have to take it, mines the Red Rock.

3000 miles with the AEV kit and still loving it.

Not sure that my JK is loving the short drives about Edinbrugh though....18.9mpg! (still better than the brothers 15mpg from the 3.8 stocker)

Wish I had more time to go off-roading.

Glad your enjoying the mods.
Was going pm you to see if you'd experienced any issues so far.
(By the way, how did you manage to get the snapped head bolt out of the tire carrier ?)

Well I'm getting 9 to 10 more MPG than that local driving.
I was told the snorkel can take a chunk off your milage with CRD's. Something to do with air being forced in rather than drawn, but what do I know:crazyeyes:
I was also taking to a guy who had a stock JK like mine but with Cooper SST's on the 18"'s and lost 6 or 7 MPG :gak:
Wouldn't think the Duratracs should do that much damage to the MPG. Maybe 2 ?

I was wondering with a lift that would cancel the rake and level the stance, with no steel bumper up front, may cause hood flutter which in turn, ( so I've read ), cause vibrations to the mopar hood lock knocking the levers out in the barrel. Any thoughts or experiences on that one ?

Just want to try & cover all the angles before i dive in next year.
