Look for the Google Earth link a little earlier in the thread. The Park Service updates the status of which ramps are opened/closed weekly, and you can view it in Google Earth.

Had an awesome day at Obx beach. Only about 8 of 18 showed up, but we made do... Some guys went and ran the trails and guys like me decided my BL lime was too good at the time.... Got to test out the winch and pull a 2wd carvan looking thing out near the entrance... On our way out, one of our group was running an SRT Hemi and helped pull out a Honda ridgeline, the only causalty was the hondas front bumper coming off in the process..... Hahaha... The wild horses were out on the beach (one playing in water) and the dolphins were jumping all day about 150 yds offshore.....

I've always wondered how you're supposed to winch/strap cars with no obvious tow points.

Glad ya'll had a great time, and glad you've had two ticket-free visits back there.

Luckily the guy I winched had a tow package. He didn't have the hitch in so I clipped the hook in the hole where the safety chain hooks....
