I think in general, that'd be a great idea. Use this thread to announce meetup/rides, then create a new thread for the specifics of a ride (so not everyone subscribed to this one gets bombarded with updates for a meetup/ride they may not going to).

Are all beach 4x4 accesses open this year? Last year the first two ramps outside of Rodanthe were closed because of the damn birds. Updates would be appreciated. Heading down for a week on July 3. By the way... The ramp off of Billy Mitchell is great. Pretty far down 12 in Frisco but worth the drive.

I would HIGHLY recommend that you either
1) don't go
2) contact me via PM to get some VERY rural directions to avoid a good bit of the summer holiday tourist traffic, this kicks off tourist season for those guys down there.
My directions will drop you off just south of the va/nc line
