Corolla trip 3/6/11
Haha, I'd love to make it sooner, but driving down from fairfax usually requires an overnight stay. And with the move coming up on the 12th, it's too hectic to make it down We're gonna take a weekend to relax after moving. I miss living in Newport News. It was much easier to head down to the beach. Sdaly I didnt get the Jeep until I moved back to fairfax. Hope you guys have a good time

Question GWNF - Shoe Creek run maybe others?

Hey guys. I've been poking around the forum for a few days trying to collect some information on the trails in the GWNF. I will not be able to make it down to the OBX at the end of the month like I wanted. From what I've found, I think that Shoe creek would be a fun trail, and maybe hit up stoney run (might be Rocky run trail) if its as close to Shoe creek as people say it is. Does anyone have any information on these trails? It seems like the GWNF website could use a little work Any input you guys have would be greatly appreciated. Also, if you want to tag along (3/26 or 3/27 I think) it's always nice to have a few more Jeeps.

Cheers

If you need driving directions to Shoe Creek:

(not mine -- not sure who wrote them)

Some of the other trails around there were closed for the season, or closed due to the recent fire. Apparently there's a way to call the ranger out there to get more info, but I can't remember where I saw that.

Looks like there's a lot of good stuff buried in those trip reports!

I really think Paul may very well be OCD with his attention to detail on those maps. Did you see he is/was using 3 seperate gpseses(?) to get all the tracks.
