Warm weather, lot's of Sandy-repairs behind me.. and time to re-engage!

Tops off for the weekend. I actually gave thought to putting the soft top back on!

Did a quick inventory of spring mods and installed a set of Flatties..

Time to restock all my beach gear and air down!

Suffolk permit can be used at Smiths Point and out east. You need a bunch of stuff in Jeep but you can park for the day right on the water. I got mine at Sayville Golf Course.
Thanks, so the state permit includes all the beaches that the Suffolk permits for and more correct?

No they are two different permits. State permit works on state owned beaches and county permit works for county owned beaches

Just wanted to get a couple of thoughts on the beach permits .When i first purchased my Jk in 2009 I was all gung ho , I bought both the state and county permits . I live in Smithtown and figured Id give the beach off of Robert Moses ( not sure of the name ), a try as it is closer to home. I was pretty disappointed. You really couldnt drive that far on the sand and i got pulled over for not airing down. Figured I wasnt able to drive too far so why bother. Sore thumb was closed,at least I think that is the name. Even though it is much further away I love Smiths Point . Beach seems to go on forever and burma road gives you that off road option, plus finishing off at the Moriches inlet is awsome , just dont know whats open after sandy. Plus Cupsogue is pretty cool even though you cant actually drive on the beach, but they serve drinks at the concession area and theres usually a band playing on the way out . Maybe I just dont know all of the options with the state permit. So what Im probably getting at is , is the state permit actually worth getting

Install couldn't have been easier...

Though I followed the parts list that was in the install instructions and ended up with a gojillion extra washers and long stainless bolts.. No idea why they listed what they did. The 3/4" and 1" bolts were fine.

I have a few more pics I'll add.

Side note...

I've scoured the NYS MV Laws online and can't find anything about whether side turn indicators need to be amber or if red or yellow are legal..

I have a line on 30mm LED button lights to install in the leading edge of the fender at the front sheet metal. The would work perfect, but not sure if I'll have issues with inspection... I already installed reflectors where the side indicators were located in the fenders.

While doing the install, I see my drvr front shock is toast.. gotta change them.

Should be picking up the half-doors from the paint shop this week. Trek Top is cleaned ready to go on.

Would anybody be interested in a used rancho 4" sport lift? Comes with everything but no shocks. I have shock extensions also if anyone is interested.
