I have a question for you or anyone that can help me cause I'm a noob. When I tried to jack up the tire the jack from jeep didn't go high enough to get the tire off the ground. I wound up borrowing a hydraulic floor jack from a salvage shop that was across the street from where I got the flat. Anyone recommend a good jack that I can keep in the jeep that will go high enough and isn't too heavy or bulky. Somebody suggested jacking it up from the axel but I wasn't comfortable doing that with the jack from jeep.

Compact and I'd say cheap but $50 for a plastic base....

Good question, I'm sure you will get many different answers. I myself use the factory jack under the axle. (No problems) Under the jack I use a board that I keep in the rear of the Jeep (piece of a 2X12) to gain just a bit of height( only talking an 1 1/2''). I really keep it in the back in case I have to jack up (not off) on sand or mud. Would never use a hi-lift to change a tire unless I HAD TOO!! Remember you won't have the luxury of a floor jack if/when your stuck on the side of the highway. In addition I keep a breaker bar in the back which makes things easier as well.

This is exactly what I use with my lift and it hasn't failed me yet, really sturdy and tough. Used it in sand snow and pavement

Also designed to fit perfectly in the truck storage compartment so it's not just out and about

I have a hi lift jack mounted to my hood. Takes a few min to unmount but looks good and works well. I used it to rotate my tires when it was still warm out. Kinda hard to see but the design on the mounts is a skull and cross bones
