I've written about this subject, here and in other places. I feel that jamborees are very different from other trips, enough so, that I think everyone should at least try one once before claiming they aren't worth the money. I really enjoy the diversity of the:
People, especially the newbies,
Trails, many of which are private land,
Jeeps,
Entire experience.
Like I said, try it before you knock it. There's a reason they sell out 9 months out, in a matter of weeks once available.

Does Long Island Off roading exist?
Hey I am new to the fourms and wanted to see if there was any other people here from LI, and if they have some good spots to go wheeling where you wont get in to much trouble lol.

Hey all im new to the fourm and just stumbled on this thread. I know this is most likely a very redundant question, but is there anything out on the island to still go and do off roading? Some friends just "discovered" Rausch Creek, but its a hike to get out there.

I hit up Democrat point on Thursday with a few a few buddies to do some fishing, soon as I entered there were a few Suffolk County cops with a checkpoint setup checking permits and fishing poles, they did not check for fishing licenses though. Figured I'd give you all a heads up if you were going to head down. I thought only the Park Rangers/Park Police checked them but I guess not.
Was nice out but didnt catch anything. I saw a most stock black 2 door JK with tube doors posing for some pictures but it didnt appear to be anyone from here.
