Casparis & Hawkins Hollow Run (last?) -- Nov 10th
#41
well, guess its just us three for the run. We'll have to figur out which path we are going to take once we are there. i think the big question of the trip would be, "do we want to come in the back way to Hawkins Hollow and goto the stream crossing and then come back the same way (this is if the gate is closed which is most likly), or do we want to skip Hawkins Hollow completely?
but in anycase, i'll see both of you at the Sheetz around 10 tomorrow.

I've done some checking. We need to stay off of Hawkins Hollow Road even if the gate is down. The supervisors have temporary closed the road to public travel. So we do not have legal access. It is like a "road closed for repairs" closure. The issue is whether they will permanent close the road. But at the moment it is closed. Sorry!

not suprised it is closed. thanks for swinging by and checking it out.
Hawkins Hollow does have a 2nd entrance. Its part of the Casparis trails. Not sure where the property lines end and all I believe its game land once you get down the road a few hundred feet. But for now, the road ends just a little past the river crossing. So technically and thing past that point, being the railroad bridge and the path leading down is still part of Casparis and still open and legal.
But in all, i think for now we'll just avoid that part of the trail. no need adding anymore fuel to the already burning blaze.
