Default Beer Butt Pheasant

Take a whole cleaned pheasant / chicken; open a can of beer and drink half of it; shove the 1/2 can of beer (open end first) up the bird's ass and set it standing up on the bottom of the can in a hot covered bbq for 40 minutes. Sounds redneck and hillbilly but it works great with Chicken. Season the way you like it before or after

You guys are awesome!!! I cooked three of the birds in a slow cooker with cream of chicken soup and put that on top of wild rice. The breast was breaded and fried in peanut oil. I'll try the other recepies next time.

I like to soak the birds in a sweet wine, then smoke with a good hickory with apple slices on top of the wood, keeping the wood wet. While the bird is smoking,
Cook about 2 cans of small new whole potatoes and a bag of fresh baby carrots.
Cook long grain wild rice with with shallots, chopped apple, and a tad of beer. Add a few chopped sweet peppers, then once the rice is almost done, add some apple juice, and the potatoes and carrots and stir. let cook for about 5 more minutes. Remove from the stove, quickly add the birds, a bit of ground black pepper and place in the oven preheated to 450*. Cover and let in oven for about 10 minutes.

A good bottle of red wine and some good bleu cheese, and some Ukrainian bread.
