Cheeseburgers work for me! Pics next time!! Your wife will think you are crazy, but just do it.
I'm using hickory right there. It's got good flavor for meatloaf-- nice and hearty. I like chunks about the size of my fist-- soak 'em for an hour or two.

Grilled a pork tenderloin tonight. It was already soaked in apple bourbon. Absolutely fantastic. I asked my wife where she bought it and she told me Walmart. I couldn't believe it. Love the summer cookouts! Feel free to throw some ideas my way. I am all ears.

Shrimp and Zuch's tonight. Salmon tomorrow or Sun.
If you are a salad eater and would like a hybrid BBQ salad try this, it will blow you away.
Take a head of Romain lettuce.
Slice it lenghtwise.
Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkly with Sea or Kosher salt.
Put cut side down on a hot grill 2-3 minutes, coat the back side with drizzle of EVOO and salt.
Flip over for 2-3 minutes.
Take off grill, slice sideways about 1 1/2 to two inch slices, put in a salad bowl along with tomato's, cheese, ham bits, whatever you like. Sprinkle a bit of Parmesan on it. and watch out! Seriously, I mean it!
Almost ruined a dinner doint this, everyone almost filled up on the salad and hardly ate the main meal. Funny thing was my wife was so enamored with the flavor that she bought more Romaine and ate it raw. LOL, Yuck, totally different flavor although a small amounts adds a bite to normal salads or a Cesears Salad. (which was invented in Ti Juana, Mexico.)
