Trailfest 2011 - Bobcaygeon, Ontario
Hey everyone,
Trailfest registrations are open....go to www.trailfest.ca to register.
I heard that they have a new trail this year...I think it's a 3-4 for newbies or people that want to take it easy. But if you are up for a challenge you can tackle "Over the Ledge" and "Lunatic Fringe".
Here's an update of the trails:
Trail - Rating (1-Easy 10-Extreme)
Jeep 101 - 1
Black Bear Bog - 2-3
Rathwell - 3-4
Gnarly - 3-4
Dewdney - 4-5
Purdy - 5-6
Over the Ledge - 3-4, 6-7
Lunatic Fringe - 6-7
Last year there was a really good turn out with lots of prizes and very well organized. It's also open to all makes so you can invite your FJ buddies and watch them get stuck!
I had a blast last year and so did my wife and kids!

Yeah it is a great time, and well organized for sure. There are limits to the number of vehicles allowed on each trail so that the ratio of trail guides to participants doesn't get out of hand.
I did not make it last year - couldn't get out of work aaargh - but went to my first one in '09, and will be back this year for sure. Learned a lot about my Jeep and what I could do with it, as I was very new to the scene. Got a lot of confidence through the support of the trail leaders and trail guides. They answered any question I had, and there were a few. I did some stuff I never would have thought possible prior to attending this event. And it made me feel capable enough to attend EJS in Moab last year and successfully run 3 of the 4 trails we signed up for (chose to ride shotgun on Cliffhanger... wise choice on my part. Still too new for that one! Did run Hell's Revenge, Metal Masher, and Top of the World successfully, other than slicing a sidewall on MM).
Looking forward to it! Hope to see you all there!
