JKJam 2013
Hello there everyone,
I am back
JKJam 2013 is right around the corner on July 13 and 14th and we are changing the format or the weekend to allow far more flexability to returning JKJammers and allow us to spend more time on the training course for the newbies.
As always, this event is to raise money for the Canadian Cancer society and Scott and I dont make a penny off it in any way.
We will break the $5000 mark this year which is a small but significant milestone.
Also, this may be the final year for JKJam as I have been too busy with work to really get things rolling, and there is a good chance that I will be moving next summer to the west coast, so.....
if anyone out there has been to a past event and wants to keep this tradition going, please let us know and help spread the word.
OK, so here is the new structure.
Sat will be a trail run for all returning JKJammers follwoed with the Sat night bonfire, social event at the JKJam site (free rough camping available to all)
Newbies will be offered the offroad clinic training session sat with an intro trail run before the bonfire. and then Sunday morning will be the basic powerline trail run that has been used in the past.
Anyone who has been to a past event is welcome to join in on the sat trail run and can meetup at the trailhead if you can't get to the JKJam evenmt site friday evening.
We look forward to seeing you all after the trail run that evening though
The fee structure will be as follows.
first time participants:
$75 for driver and vehicle. (includes a $25 course maintenance fee, a $30 general donation to cancer society, and a $20 individual donation to the cancer society with a tax receipt)
returning JKJammers:
$50 for driver and vehicle. (includes a $10 course maintenance fee, a $20 general donation and a $20 individual donation)
all passengers:
min $10 donation to the cancer society. (upgrade to $20 donation for a tax receipt)
trail leaders and volunteers:
Individual Donation of your choice
as far as registration goes, just let us know that you are coming. We have enough room and the new format will allow us to concentrate on the first time attendees and not have to rush through the training course.
We are thinking of continuing the training a few times in the summer upon request and have another trail run end summer/early fall.
Hope to see you all here again this year,
Cheers

But I am out of town this weekend.
Maybe Scott will be up for it, I'll ask him.
I am going over there to Scott's tonight with Will (Basher) to clear trails near the JKJam site.
Cheers

the trail in Bob should be a good addition to the weekend. Also, there is a short local trail for the guys to run after doing the course.
This will likely be my last jkjam as I think I will be moving out west before next summer.
Have a good trip. (I just got back from PEI tuesday night )
