Got to love mod friendly dealers
#11
I had my dealership install my lift so that the warranty was not affected. I bought the extended warranty as well. I should be good as long as I don't move away from here. They are very mod friendly.

So the story continues.
About 4 weeks ago (just after the Durham Show & Shine) I noticed that fluid was starting to leak from the passenger side front axle tube (but not the driver ). I get down and check it out, give it a smell and you’ve got it.. Diff fluid (Don’t think driving over that car had anything to do with it at the Show & Shine )…. So back off to Village Chrysler we go…
We get there and the dealership does their thing and identifies that the axle seal needs to be replaced (big shock there), they also point out that the ABS sensor, Tru-Loc actuator, Main Crank Seal & Wheel hub also need doing. The dealership goes on to say the good news is that everything is fully covered under warranty and that they will also be doing the driver side seal seeing how they have it opened, the bad news is that it’s gonna take a couple of days. The moment I head that I started my happy dance
So jump 2 weeks later, Jeep’s been home, we’ve been driving it, and I notice that diff fluid is still dripping (but now from both front axle tubes). Back to Village the Jeep goes. The new guy behind the counter (jackass) proceeds to tell Chantal that the reason why it’s leaking is due to residue oil sitting in the tube. The guy proceeds to flush out the tubes with cleaner and tells her to come back if it continues to leak/drip (not overly reassuring ).
So jump to this week. The jeep has continued to drip, my driveway is starting to look a mess. So my 6 & ½ month very pregnant wife heads back to Village. Upon walking in the door the regular Service Manager runs up to her and asks what’s wrong… To which she tell him the story about what happened 2 weeks earlier. He takes the Jeep right in and assigns a Mechanic to it right there on the spot and has the shuttle drive her home.. A few hours later she gets the call.. The old axle shafts have been grooved by the sand, grit and mud in the tubes thus preventing them from fully sealing. They will be replacing the shafts under warranty at no charge. Bad news is they will have the Jeep for 2 days.
So yesterday the jeep comes home from the dealership, I get under it to see what they did, and to my surprised they replaced both front inner and outer axle shafts plus installed new u-joints and another set of seals (according to the work order).
All I can say is YOU SO GOT TO LOVE MOD FRIENDLY DEALERS

i'm glad everything worked out for u and seeing how ajax isnt that far
for me i might go there, but i'm in barrie and have taken my jeep to centennial
because i went wheelin and a stick got stuck between the housing and
the fan blade, breaking the fan motor, fuse and the fan housing.
now my jeep was like a year old but they covered it all. not saying it
was much like axle shafts and what not.
But does anyone kno is Centennial Jeep, Dodge and Chrysler is a friendly
mod dealership?
Also im getting the pop out in first gear and my second has a flat
spot (it will go half in and then like a second later then it will slid in)
i have a 2009 JKU sahara 43,500 clicks on her. (warranty?)
Thanks

Sweet good for you.
I was under the jeep last weekend and also found the rear passenger side leaking. Called the service manager at Rose City Dodge and he ordered the parts without even seeing the Jeep. I think he trusts my opinion after all we've been through. My Jeeps in today getting new rear seals & bearings as well as upper control arms.
2summer - looking forward to meeting Saturday.

Kingston Dodge and Jim Thompson Chrysler here in K Town are both mod friendly dealerships...my JK shows up and it is like the water cooler in the office..they all come out to see it shoot the breeze etc. even the sales staff....always cover stuff that shouldn't be covered realistically..

man you're lucky!
when my jeep was stock, i got a squeaky rear break. i brought it to the dealer, they "said no problem, we'll take a look at it" i get a call back, they said "well it looks like this vehicles has been off road." SO!
"well it looks like sand got in the breaks and that's causing the squeak"
I'll buy that. so i go to the dealer to pick it up.... $100!
for what? ... they removed the sand and cleaned the breaks... no more squeak... hundred bucks!
aguably i paid. drive home... and its still squeaking.. i tell them i want my money back, and they didn't fix sh*t. they say "the sand scratched the disc and/or pads.. it'll go away soon, or at you next brake job"
little while later (still within warranty) and after a break change i bring the jeep back in. squeak is still there!
well the squeak is cause of you new BIG 33's.
"nope you told me it was sand"
now get this.... same squeak, it never stopped and they say "that was the problem then, this is the problem now. we wouldn't of made that mistake!"
i said F this and F you... i'll bring it somewhere else....
long story short. bent axle, both shafts and the housing. covered under warranty
stupid dealers

Due to a dealership here in Ottawa, who's name I shall not mention, but Ottawa is the Capital of Canada, I shall never buy another Chrysler/Dodge product again.
I took my Jeep in for an issue 6 months ago, just before my warranty expired. They applied some bulls**t TSB and indicated that would fix my problem, but the noticed that my front universals were going and could be replaced under warranty which expired in less then 5k. So I scheduled the work and they ordered the parts.
On my way home the front right brake caliper fell off, so I had to have the Jeep towed in. A short while later I found my front right axle seal leaking. I spoke to a couple of independent mechanics and they indicated that it was highly unlikely that anything other the incompetence on the part of the mechanic caused it. I took the Jeep back to the dealership and they flat out refused to accept responsibility.
